Frequently Asked Questions

COURSE PURCHASERS

How long can I access the videos courses for?

You will have access to each video course for 365 days once your first logged into it – hopefully it won’t take you that long…

Do I get a discount for buying bulk courses?

We are certainly open to this; however, your purchase is considered a donation to a relief fund for displaced hospitality workers so it might be polite not to ask 😊 If you are looking from a position of a community group or organisation we would be happy to discuss your needs. Reach out to us at support@helpouthospo.com.au

SPONSORS

How do I become a sponsor?

Thank you for enquiring about this. We have 3 levels of sponsorship available; Silver ($5k) , Gold ($10k) and Platinum ($20k). Please send us your details

What do I get as a sponsor?

Aside from the warm and fuzzy feeling you get from supporting struggling stood-down hospitality workers, you will also get a prominent logo on the HelpOutHospo website, mentions in all press briefings and releases, the option to post your own videos featuring your products (so long as they align with the video submission criteria). There will also be opportunities to partner in all further HelpOutHospo events and associated distribution channels.

What is the duration of sponsorship?

At least until the pandemic is over – but there is an argument to be made that, at any one time, there are many people across the breadth of hospitalty that need financial assistance and support. So we may just keep it going to help them…

How does my sponsorship money get used?

All monies received goes into a dedicated account for HelpOutHospo and then used to provide financial relief for those hospitality people in need across our partner network.

DONORS

Is my donation tax deductable?

Unfortunately not. We are not a registered charity so therefore it is not deductable.

How much of my donation will go to helping hospitality staff?

Outside of associated costs of developing and managing the websites, all profits will be used to provide financial relief to Hospitality staff who have lost their jobs from partner venues.

PARTNER VENUES

How do I become a partner venue?

Simply fill out an enquiry form, making sure to choose ‘I want to become a partner venue’ in the drop-down box. You will need to submit an example or two of the videos you are looking to post, preferably via a YouTube or Vimeo link. Once we’ve viewed the videos, we’ll respond to you within 24hrs and let you know if you’ve been successful.

What is the criteria for the videos I submit?

The videos need to be orientated to the home cook, mixologist or entertainer to help them create better dining and drinking experiences at home. This means that they are best shot at home OR at a venue but with consideration given to those who will be applying the skills and knowledge at home.

It is recommended that the videos are no longer than 10 minutes and have decent lighting and sound – although this is not a strict requirement.

Can I shoot a video/s from my smart phone and not have all the fancy production?

Sure! The idea is for us to band together to inspire those in self-isolation to create better dining and drinking at home. If you’re video lacks the production values but has strong content, it will definitely be considered.

Learn more about making videos here.

How much money can I expect to generate to help out my team?

That depends on how popular your videos are, how you have packaged them (e.g. providing supporting copy to help them sound exciting etc) and also to whom you have promoted them within your own networks. Get all the above right and you should expect to sell quite a number and therefore generate good funds.

How do I know if my videos are selling?

As a partner venue we will email you a weekly sales report that shows the sales of all videos. If you see your videos sales could be better, you are welcome to resubmit the videos or change the copy by emailing support@helpouthospo.com.au.

Where does all the money go?

The profit from HelpOutHospo all goes to support the staff from partner venues. The video content contributors also donate their time and talent to the cause.

How does financial aid get decided and distributed?

Staff from partner venues who have lost their jobs, or who have had their hours severely restricted owing the pandemic, are eligible to apply for financial relief through the contact form on the HelpOutHospo website. Payouts come in the form of a one-off gift to the person submitting for aid. We recommend providing relevant bills or statements as evidence.

Who decides where the money goes?

An audit team of industry professionals, who are overseen by accounting firm PKF.

Can I apply for financial support if I am not a partner venue?

Unfortunately not. If this is the case, we recommend you speak to the venue owners or managers and get them to sign up using the contact form. You will then need to source and/ or shoot some videos that are of value to the home entertainer and send them to us to make available on the site. From there you will be eligible for financial support.
